In exactly two weeks time, Samsung will unveil the long awaited Android in London’s flagship, the successor to the Samsung S2 Galaxy, officially. Whether the device will actually be named S3, while still unclear, however, now have some details on the CPU of the smartphone leaked.
As reported by the U.S. technology blog ‘ The Verge ‘, that you have learned from the company related circles, that it is in Samsung’s “Unpacked” event in London on 3 May on the stage is actually revealed to the Galaxy S2 is the successor.
Confirmed: Two weeks ago, Samsung’s successor to the S2
The invitation to the Samsung event is only impose “Come and meet the next Galaxy,” which has led to speculation that London may have a new Galaxy note, Galaxy Tab or any other smartphone (the lower category) could be demonstrated.

The guys at iSuppli estimated the cost components of the Nokia 900 Lumia , you know we like to know this information, but we are clear that it is difficult to use for comparison with other phones as well as we can not use it to determine the final price a telephone.
The phone is competitively priced in the U.S. ($ 100 with contract operator), the country where it initially appeared, but when you consider that iSuppli estimated a cost of $ 217 component, Nokia (besides Microsoft and operators) is making a major effort by the phone to operate on the market.
A high cost determined by the bargaining power with suppliers
A 16GB iPhone 4S has an estimated cost of $ 200, with similar costs component by component, but curiously, Lumia screen is considerably more expensive than the Apple product. It makes sense when you consider that it is significantly larger in the Lumia, but also has a lower resolution than the iPhone’s IPS panel.
Lumia The Nokia 900 does not have the best specifications of the market, but build quality and materials are paid (in addition to LTE connectivity), but also a reality that Nokia does not have the same power to negotiate prices with suppliers that Apple may have, which sold 40 million iPhones last quarter .
You can see a comparison of components with another major market phones, the Samsung S2 Galaxy in its version for an American carrier, with which we can see how it moves in similar costs, being the most technologically advanced Korean phone:
Nokia returns money for connectivity problems
Additionally we must inform you that the phone is having some problems in terms of connectivity, and Nokia has taken the measure to pay $ 100 to those users, so that little money will be doing with freight terminal harmed.
The problem has been identified as a serious hole in software that prevents some devices connect to the Internet as an operating system failure, so we have a solution with an update. Both users who are disadvantaged, as they are not, are entitled to the $ 100.
Three million Nokia Lumias
Yesterday we reported on the advance of Nokia’s financial results for the first quarter of the year, with more than two million phones in the market Lumia . If we add to those sold since its introduction , we would have a figure of over three million.
The best selling phone of the three available Lumia is the model 800, something we could expect. Nokia has put on the market 12 million smartphones in the first quarter of 2012, so most are still Symbian, Nokia Belle, or whatever you call them.

Today we come to the meeting with Samsung and Microsoft to experience first hand the newly released version of Microsoft Surface, the table Microsoft professional touch.
For the second Surface, Microsoft has teamed up with Samsung. The goal of both companies was to get a device with a better design, lightest and most versatile and it appears that they have succeeded. The new Samsung SUR40 has every appearance of a table with black glass supericie. Only the Samsung logo and detailed examination of the connectors on one side reveals that what we are supporting is more than just a simple table.
Screen and tactile feedback
A screen level we have already offered all the technical details of the Samsung SUR40. The first feeling we have to touch the Surface is low resolution. In fact, the 40 inch Surface-size ratio are low resolution (1080p FullHD) when compared with the super-high definition of the tablet that have come out lately.
The Surface pixel size is greater than the screen of a tablet of high quality. Moreover, the tactile response seems a bit slow in comparison. Part of that feeling may have to do with the high response time of the screen (8 milliseconds) and recognition system that uses, based on infrared.
PixelSense technology that gives life to the Samsung SUR40 will not be as agile as a tablet Dual Core, but has other advantages. The first is its ability to recognize objects without capacitance, only its form. It is also capable of recognizing up to 50 simultaneous contact points, something far beyond any so-called multi-touch platform.
The key is in the applications
At the hardware level, the Samsung SUR40 has the right and necessary to move the platform-specific embedded Windows 7 and Surface menus. The motion of objects on the screen is fast enough to be attractive, although they have already used a tablet not be as surprised.
The version we tested has several applications that are more a show of what the Surface can do. Samsung and Microsoft have put much emphasis on the Surface SDK and that has many possibilities if it provides the appropriate software. Just imagine a restaurant where you can select from a menu what we want so much as putting the glass on the table or estate in which to see the floors at the same table-screen.
Microsoft Surface. The opinion of Engadget
The Samsung SUR40 has ‘worst’ resolution and sensitivity than a tablet, and its internal components are not an art PC, but the Surface is not a tablet or a PC. In fact not even a device designed for you to purchase a home user unless it is a very wealthy eccentric. Do not think of it as a gadget to use.
The Samsung SUR40 is probably what the first Surface should have been. A more or less portable table with a tremendous potential for connectivity and user experience. And all at a very affordable price for a company.
Willing to make figures, 7,900 euros is a nonsense for the hardware configuration of the new Surface if you look at just numbers, but not so for a touch platform capable of recognizing different objects very accurately, or to bear than six people toqueteeen simultaneously. As a platform to enhance the experience at the point of sale, or aggregator marketing tool in hospitality services, the Samsung SUR40 has many possibilities.

The Commission of the European Union has launched two antitrust investigations against Motorola Mobility. In a release issued today says that while the one from Apple and Microsoft filed complaints will pursue.
Both companies had negative opinions about their view on patent claims covered by Motorola Mobility and informed the EU Commission to the effect formally. The focus therefore is on the question of whether the notices have been recently associated with Google mobile phone manufacturers to Article 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU). This deals with the possible abuse of dominant position.
Exactly this should have exercised Motorola Mobility in royalties and thus violates the principle of FRAND. This provides essential protection that standard fonts in a fair and reasonable terms and conditions must be licensed to competitors. According to Microsoft, Motorola would require, for example in the important patents for the H.264 standard, 22.50 U.S. dollars per Windows license sold, provided the appropriate PC has a retail price of $ 1,000. Motorola demanded a higher price accordingly more.
Finally, the EU Commission in late January, an appropriate action against Samsung opened. Here, too, is accused of contempt of FRAND principle, therefore, at the same time also a violation of Article 102

By now almost everyone knows Evernote , an interesting way to store and organize ideas, thoughts, pictures or almost anything that we can capture, for reference later from any other device with storage in the cloud and support for almost any type computer and mobile phone.
This morning the application for Android has been updated to version 3.6 in Google Play (already available the link to download, just warn you before to enjoy all the news would be interesting that you had Ice Cream Sandwich in your terminal), which Besides having to solutions for a number of bugs and the consequent improvement in stability that entails, it also brings a couple of relevant news:
Dictation (speech-to-text): When we give we make a note directly to the phone and he will write, as we go talking about the words we say, so we can save the voice note and quickly find the form as these words are indexed. To use this feature we will be connected to the internet and as dependent transcription service from Google for Android devices, it should (do not we have seen) also support Spanish as the language of dictation.
Improvements in widgets: the app with widgets (you have to download it separately) can be customized with different colors, buttons and sizes for notes, but add also some mini-widgets that will make a single function (among these highlights of Quick Screen Capture (Quick Snapshot), allowing us with a simple click make a screenshot and save it in our notes.
In the same blog confirms that we are working on other developments that hope to show soon, but …, do you do you think should be implemented for the next update?

The MWC releases have not stop the rumors and now all eyes are fixed on the Samsung Galaxy SIII. This week we had lots of rumors but it seems most real is this picture . Speaking of the Korean company, the source code of Ice Cream Sandwich for IBS is now available . By the way, this update has been delayed in the Note, but will come with juicy news . Another release that has a date is the Huawei Ascend D Quad: July .
Another company that has also had its dose of prominence has been Sony. On the one hand we know that updating your tablets come the month of April and that the source code of the Xperia S is now available for creating ROM s. By the way, our colleague Damian already have this model in his hands, the analysis will come soon. Now, let’s talk about applications that have a lot this week, starting around The Humble Bundle Android and Weather Flow , an application to check the weather on our smartphone.
In this aspect, the apps, the protagonist of this week has been Angry Birds Space . If you have not gone down, we tell you our experiences in depth analysis . Alkar has brought us a selection of applications to follow the Formula 1 and most gamers have a repeat of King of Fighters for Android, but for now only works on a few devices.
To conclude, we remind you that Fruit Ninja has been updated with online multiplayer, we talked about SpyTOOLS , an application to record audio and sound without being detected, and MessagEase , a new concept keyboard for Android. Indeed, a study appears to ad-apps consume more battery . Do you prefer free apps with ads or pay them? This is our question of the week .
Posted: March 24th, 2012 | Author: otkaceni | Filed under: Mobile Phone | Tags: high density of pixels, Windows 8
It started with the Apple iPhone 4 and threatens to spread to all devices: the concept “retina” where more pixels are used but keeps the size of screen elements to gain definition, is jumping on the screens of three or four inches to nine or ten. And Microsoft does not want to be left behind, because one of their development blogs have claimed that Windows 8 is ready for displays with high pixel density.
But in Redmond are going to do a little differently: While Apple doubled the resolution of the image while maintaining its dimensions (four pixels where before there was one), Windows 8 will be ready to increase the resolution 1.4 or 1.8 times depending on the screen and the device we use. It sounds complicated for developers, but the problem using vector graphics are easily stirred.
Microsoft’s idea is that thanks to the increase of the resolutions the scale of the interface elements look the same to the naked eye, without a maximum limit of resolution. Apple, on the front, prepares to double the resolution of their icons in OS X Mountain Lion . Or perhaps you thought that was the last frontier FullHD?

The new iPhone is a tablet with a battery life enviable, that’s why I’ve always left charging at night, but following some news claiming that the loading time due to the new battery increased 70%, I made a couple of tests that I have seen that, indeed, the battery takes longer to load.
Specifically, I left the New iPhone charging via wall charger, with the screen off 4 minutes, which has managed to load only 2%, in contrast, the iPad 2, in the same condition, has managed to increase 4% in the battery.
After this, I decided to leave The New iPad charging through the USB port of my Macbook Pro 4 hours, which has increased 53% loading, than we could extrapolate that to charge to 100% need about 7 hours (approximately). Presumably, if we use the wall charger the charging rate will increase and this time will be reduced to about 4-5 hours.
As the gossips said that with certain games that require lots of processing load, the battery was not working as expected (some said that if discharged playing Infinity Blade II, others loaded or unloaded neither), I decided to try it for myself. The results have been amazing (not really expected this to happen), The New iPad has begun with 83% of the test battery, the brightness at maximum and connected to the wall charger and 20 minutes ended with 82 % of battery.

In recent days, and months ago, Nokia has been linked with the development of a tablet , which is that it seems normal until one of the mobile industry players’ holdings of one of the devices star of the season.
Nokia has had other priorities in recent times, like taking out their phones Lumia, and therefore make Windows Phone off, but we are going to deny that we have put a tablet with each operating system that has been near the Finnish company as Maemo, MeeGo or Windows 8.
But it also had forays on land that the company itself named as Nokia Internet Tablets, which were more than a PDA, but less than an ultraportable PC. All products appeared using the Maemo operating system, a Linux distribution, and did not have phone functionality.
It would have been interesting to include in the beginning of all this phones like the Nokia 7710/7700, precursors of the Nokia Internet Tablets in 2003, but we would have gone the way too.
