AMD Opteron 3200 is officially

Posted: March 20th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: News | Tags: ,

Today AMD is officially already in November of last year in prospect before provided new Opteron 3200th Earlier this month, the newcomers were already partly commercially available , some more details, the producer did a presentation in advance but still revealing.

AMD’s market share in the server segment are very low – the latest figures confirmed this again. This was not just the shift from “Bulldozer” last year, they also offered in some market segments simply no products. This will now change at least partially.

Under the code name “Zurich” AMD has developed a product that is ideal for a growing market of small, efficient servers. It is currently here on a market share of around 20 percent – want to use these exact AMD Opteron processors with three special. This one uses the “Bulldozer” architecture there and picked out specific processors, which is allowed in the popular desktop AM3 + with a server chipset to work together.

Specifications of the AMD Opteron 3200
The processors are in the simplest view, re-labeled desktop models with two or four modules, and hence four and eight threads. You get all the features of the desktop models based on the AM3 socket with +, it is the L3 cache placement of up to 8 Mbytes of memory, or even support up to DDR3-1866 and a turbo mode. We will arrange the new Opteron 3250, 3260 and 3280 but TDP-classes that are not yet offered on the desktop: 45 and 65 watts.

In line with the lowered TDP of course, the clock speeds have been adjusted. The two models Opteron 3250 and 3260 with a TDP of 45 watts is using two modules with four cores and integer in the base with 2.5 respectively 2.7 GHz clock, while the corresponding increase turbo mode, the maximum frequency of 1 GHz can. The Opteron 3280 is with a TDP of 65 watts based on four modules, and hence eight integer cores for eight threads, there is the basic clock at 2.4 GHz, it should be loud in turbo AMD 3.5 GHz. All three models are manufactured already since last year and should be higher than normal CPU models that come from the current 32-nm “Bulldozer” production at Globalfoundries, according to AMD. They are designed for years of use in 24/7-operation selected and designed, the appropriate validation for server systems and the appropriate operating systems, they have the FX processors ahead.

AMD’s partners in the OEM market are the main buyers of the current APUs, which will continue in the future. And so it is not surprising that presented with half of the largest manufacturers first notebook, which is based on AMD’s new APU, codenamed “Trinity”.

The specifications of the new HP Pavilion g4-2002ax show a processor of the type A6-4400m on the basis of the new “Trinity”. This will work with two cores at a base clock of 2.6 GHz, 3.0 GHz in Turbo, it is. Compare this to what extent the current dual-core “Llano” is, is not yet clear. The “Bulldozer” were at the same clock significantly worse in performance than the “Stars” cores in the “Llano” , with the new “Piledriver” cores, on which “Trinity” is based, will be on improvements to the nuclei and compensate with a higher clock, but more than this and at the end of a much performanteres overall package deliver, which also consumes less power.

For A6-4400m course also includes an integrated graphics unit, which was given the name HD 7520. HP also built to a discrete solution of the type HD 7670M with 1 GB of DDR3 memory. Both cards can, as with the “Llano” already in place, working together in Crossfire mode.

HP Pavilion g4-2002ax
The A70 chipset provides the features typical features that are also on the board 4 GB DDR3-1600 plugged-RAM, which should be fully sufficient in most situations in the 14-inch notebook. Also appearing in the 2.19 kg heavy laptop and a DVD burner, two USB 3.0 ports and a 1 TB hard drive comprehensive. What the HP Pavilion g4-2002ax costs and when it is available, but is not yet known.

The financial situation of Twitter might not be as good as many supposed

Posted: March 12th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: News | Tags: ,

What would we be without the leaks. Publicly acknowledge that there is nothing significant losses for a company standard, but thanks to a leak that has echoed Gawker, we now know that the economy of Twitter is not going as well as many thought. Although the numbers are referring to 2010 and the first quarter of 2011, we can draw any other conclusion than interesting.

During the first four months, Twitter had a total expenditure of 49.2 million, compared to revenues of 23.8 million. In total, the overall losses amounted to 25.8 million in that short period of time. In 2010 the figures were even worse, with 28.5 million hospitalized but a net loss of 49.2 million.

The figures, while not good, neither are quite alarming. In addition, we must bear in mind that they are pre Twitter redesigned and some of the advertising formats, so surely in what remained of 2011 and 2012, so far have not had some alarming numbers.

But with these data in hand, still understand the need that Twitter has to allow small advertisers to jump and have a hole through the advertisements of its platform, which has already been announced and will be allowed during the coming weeks . Let’s wait for someone to filter the current results to see if these changes are sufficient to keep the platform afloat.

Pause for later, a service to keep watching your videos from where you paused

Posted: March 8th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: News | Tags: ,

There are times when we are interrupted just when we are watching a video in which we have enough interest then we can not return to retake it until later, having to do memory to remember where we had left. However, there is always a tool that can be useful in these cases.

Pause for later is a free service that allows us to store the time when we pause playback of a video online and then to resume it at any time. It works only with YouTube, Vimeo and Hulu and has extensions for Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera, in addition to a bookmarklet.

To use it, we must open an account. Once done, when we want to pause a video and stored in the service, you have to press the button of the extension (or bookmarklet). This will add a marker indicating the service within the video and the time when we paused.

Our mind is divided into three sections: “New”, which shows the videos that we added but we have not finished watching, “Whatched” where are the videos we’ve seen, and “All” which are both. The score of each video can be reset to keep it from the start, not from the time when we pause, and we can easily obtain a short address each one if we want to share it somewhere.

Basically, Pause for later it is still just a video bookmarking service, with the added advantage of allowing us to keep the exact time we interrupt your viewing to recover it later. It is easy to use and its interface is clean and simple. However, he misses not being able to add videos embedded in other pages, but must do so directly from each platform.

New Acer Aspire V3 and V5

Posted: March 7th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Computer, News | Tags: ,

Because not everything will be ultrabooks as S3 Acer , Acer Aspire new laptops V3 and V5 choose a format, say, “traditional”. That is, there are ultrabooks although some do come close to that definition.

The differences between the pair of models relate mainly to the size of the screen. In total we have five options ranging from the smallest to 11.6 of the 17.3 inches of greater. Both mounted Intel Core and NVidia graphics, although they have not determined which specific models. In fact the data are released at launch are quite small, but we are confident that we provide new information before it is finally launched.

Acer Aspire V3

Sizes 14, 15.6 and 17.3 inches
Intel Core
NVidia GeForce GT graphics
Bluetooth 4.0
USB 3.0

Acer Aspire V5

Sizes 11.6, 14 and 15.6 inches
Intel Core
NVidia GeForce GT graphics
Thickness between 21 and 23 mm
USB 3.0
Available in various colors
Available in the second quarter

As you can see the data are rather sketchy. In principle come to serve as a traditional laptop, presumably below the barrier ultrabooks (about 800 euros) and a performance that also could be somewhat higher in the graphic. It seems that the Acer Aspire V3 maintains a much more serious than his companion V5, at least when it comes to external aesthetics are concerned. Moreover
