Steam Statistics: Windows 7 is on Gaming PCs

Windows 7 is gaining increasing acceptance. Also in the gaming industry seems to verify this trend. More and more gamers rely on the latest Microsoft operating system, so Windows XP is slowly but surely to the outlet model.

The gaming platform Steam has some 25 million users – and thus an excellent basis for statistics on gamers. As illustrated by the April figures, will Windows 7 is also a growing number of gaming PCs, and could catch up to Windows XP almost complete. Only just under one percent separated the former top dog of the current Microsoft Windows XP operating system – and the trend is clear: While Windows XP User lost lately, winning seven additional Windows users. As early as next month, could Windows 7 should be the leading operating system for gamers.

The slim majority of Windows XP that is worrying wobble. While Windows XP lost around 1.4 percent, could gain added Windows 7 just under 1.5 percent. If it remains at these levels in May, then Windows XP was officially replaced with gamers. But the statistics tell by Steam not only interesting details of the gaming software on PCs, the hardware is made in detail under the microscope. There is no head-to-head battle here, however.
